... Maybe try switching off your computer and unplug all speaker connections and close them. Could be a bad connection. If you have any type of AA batteries, make sure they are fresh.
Then, once again, check your Control Panel to ensure that the sound is not muted. And the right mouse button on the Start icon and "Properties".
